What a great lesson! I’ve played golf since I was very young and I never thought about the swing like that. That completely changes my perspective. Thanks!

thanks so much for teaching us the right concept. This is how I was thinking and am glad someone who are qualified to confirm it. I will work on it.

This is the best advice for any golfer. The one thing you have to remember is not to get too far back on the takeaway. Leave your arms steady and start the turn with your hips (watch ben hogans explanation) When you have the club pointed straight back, simply raise your arms and **** your wrist. Then “pull down” and turn. DO NOT TRY TO HIT THE BALL HARD. You will simply be amazed on how solid you hit the ball. This explains why pros don’t look like they swing hard.

This is the best explanation I’ve seen. I spent over $1000 with Golftec and never improved the way that I did immediately after watching your video. The first round after watching your video was an 85. The second time I played was an 81. And the very last time I played (only time for 9) this week, I shot a 37! I ordered your book and DVD and now look forward to playing the rest of my life. Thank You for giving back a game I love to play.

I am a beginner and I am trying to learn to use the proper backswing. This video is very helpful, thank you!

I’m sure this is the kind of tip a teacher won’t give away until you have signed up for lessons, because it really changes a lot of golfers whole perspective about the swing…

Yeah yeah, looks good on a vid.

Mr. Bann, you are absolutely genius! I think this is the single most important lesson every amateur golfer should watch. It is this exact position that is described as the putting the club in the “slot”. I never understood and knew what the “slot” was until I felt my club drob in to the “slot” after watching this video. Now my club feels weight less, as described my so many professional golfers. Thank you SOOOO MUCH!!!

This shouldn’t be called a tip it should be called a lesson. Because short video will get millions of people off in the right direction. I’ve played for almost 20 years and no one has ever explained the the backswing that simple to me. So I know this will help others.

Great tip. Makes it look soo easy.

yeah this is a really good clear tip
very useful

golf is an illusion. while some sweep the ball. The pros chop down on the ball like an ax making sure they touch the other side of the ball. Just do some research.

google impact ball. It is a blue and yellow ball that show you how to move your arms through impact.

what is an impact ball?

I don’t golf, but I want to start up soon. Thanks Golflink!

Good Explanation!

I think that’s the point he is making! You can take the club back many different ways depending on more or less of a draw or fade. ALL golf pros swing the club up and down! That is the only way to consistently return the club.
It’s the illusion! Get an impact ball.

this is a fantastic explanation of the proper backswing, and has improved my swing immensely.

In my opinion, this is not the only correct way to swing the arms. Players like Immelman, ZJohnson, swing their arms more around the body.
